Almost everybody is bound to get married some day. Nearly everybody will wear a wedding or engagement ring one day. They will say their vows and promise to love their partner for eternity.
Sharing Love and Commitment
A ring which is worn for a wedding or an engagement is an important piece of jewellery that signifies the two most important stages of a couples relationship. Setting aside their differences it is apparent that they share unconditional love and commitment.
The roundness of a ring symbolises no beginning and no end. Engagement rings are often purchased at a different time from a wedding ring but they may also be purchased as a set. When purchasing them separately put in consideration that they will be worn on a daily basis. It is more recommended to purchase bands which have more clear cut stones rather than clear, sharped edged diamonds.
Wedding ring designs
A wedding ring is often a plain design or at times designed as plainer version of the more detailed engagement ring. The engagement and wedding rings are both worn on the left hand because the finger between the index and the small finger that has the vein called vena amor which is connected to the heart.
However, some cultures wear their wedding ring on the right hand.
An engagement ring tends to be fancier and grabs a lot more attention rather than the wedding ring. Engagement bands have a centre stone which is often made out of fine cut diamond jewelry or sometimes just cubic zirconia stones. It doesn’t have to be a real diamond or just a clear stone, it can be a ruby or an emerald stone. It depends on whatever suits the wearer’s personality and complements their lifestyle and taste and how they would like to design a wedding ring.
On the other hand a wedding band is just plain and symbolises eternity and love unlike the engagement ring it doesn’t give the message of ‘soon to be married’ as it is not as attention grabbing.
